In this DIY series, the outer layer design can be customized as per your choice and also you could choose one of the toppers from any listed cake. You can either send us the art work for the outer layer or you can describe your design requirement in the respective input field below and our designers will design it for you. You could also choose to have a top view message and a front view message.

    1) Do I need to install any app for this?
    No. Just tap your phone on the cake topper or scan the QR code with your camera—no app required.
    2) Will it work with all phones?
    Most modern smartphones (2015 onwards) support tap. Some budget models may not have the tap option, but you can optionally scan the QR code to play the message.
    3) Is this topper edible?
    No. This topper is not an edible topper. However the topper is food-safe. It is pinned on to the cake using a food grade tripod.

    1) What is the burning layer made of? Is it Flash paper?
    No. It is not flash paper. The burning layer is made of edible starch. It burns fast and leaves minimal residue/soot
     
    2) After burning away the starch layer, is it safe to consume soot and the outer layer which was exposed to fire?
    The burn-away topper is placed on a separate layer above the cake. When lit, all soot remains contained inside the topper. The topper can then be easily removed, leaving the cake below clean and safe to consume.

  • The Cake – The cake inside is “Moofle” – our signature recipe: a dense, plain-baked delight with a rich creamy-caramelly flavour. It’s made with natural ingredients, baking powder, and nature-identical flavour, and is free from synthetic gels, improvers, or preservatives.
  • Skin – The cake is covered with a thin edible wafer sheet. All food colours and design elements are applied only to this thin skin. This outer layer has been intentionally designed with a neutral taste and a hard sheet-like texture, as we do not encourage the consumption of food colours..
  • Frosting Layers – > A creamy blend of butter, milk solids and the flavor of your choice. Unlike pastries, Shminz cakes comes with more cake and  minimal frosting/cream
